Hawkins Field will host a regional for the fourth-straight season.

On Sunday night, the NCAA announced that Vanderbilt was selected as one of the 16 host schools for the NCAA Tournament. The Commodores, 43-17, navigated a brutal Southeastern Conference schedule to go 18-12 during the regular season, and then beat Missouri and Texas A&M in last week's conference tournament before falling to Ole Miss, and then A&M (which won the tournament) in a rematch.

The biggest feather in VU's cap, however, may have been its RPI, which was ninth in the country as of 9:15 Central on Sunday evening, according to WarrenNolan.com.

This will be the sixth time that VU has hosted a regional, the other two seasons being 2007 and 2011.

Vandy eventually advanced to the College World Series in '11, '14 and '15, winning the national title in 2014 and finishing runners-up the next season.

The Commodores will also participate in their 11th-straight NCAA Tournament, the highest current streak amount Southeastern Conference teams, since Arkansas's losing record makes it ineligible for this year's field.

Vanderbilt will learn of the three teams in its regional, along with its super regional pairing, on Monday at 11 at the Commodore Grille inside the Holiday Inn on West End, just a few yards from the football stadium. Doors open at 10:45.
